POV’s
Introduction
These points of views or POVs are highly personal, a reflection of my thinkings over the years. Many of them have been raised and discussed elsewhere, so even if I try to go beyond the obvious, some readers may find them trivial. However, if only a few find them informative and useful, it serves my purpose of sharing. The POVs will be created gradually over the next few months, so come back regularly for new entries.

More than anything else, a new leader must have Clarity. Clarity of vision. Clarity of expectations. Clarity of actions.
With Clarity of vision, you (as the leader) articulate and Communicate better the end state and what it would take to get there. Clarity of vision generates a sense of Importance, Urgency and Excitement in the change initiative.
With Clarity of expectations, you delimit the contribution of each person or group, making it easier for them to Commit. Clarity of expections generates a sense of (willing/not forced) Ownership.
With Clarity of actions, you can choose to lead from the front (be a role model) or from the back (empower people) or both. Clarity of action generates Consistency and Trust which in turn make it easier for people to engage.[On Clarity]
On Criticism

A criticism is in itself a neutral event. It’s you who feel good or bad about it. If you can detach your feeling from the event and focus on controlling your feeling, the event cannot harm you. The ghost of the event will always be there but it has no power, unless you feed him with fear, anger or denial. [Comment on Louise's Blog]
On Integrity
- Integrity is unconditional and non-negotiable, either you have it or not – there is no such thing as having 80% integrity. [in a discussion with a friend, Faith Fuqua-Purvis]
- A person of Integrity would have a keen sense of justice and a moral courage to stay consistent in his/her actions, which are based upon his/her values and principles, despite internal temptations or external pressures. [On Integrity]
On Living
- Being alone (if by choice) is not a sign of weakness. Finding moments to be alone with oneself will lead to self-awareness and will make one more confident in the act of socializing. [Comments on Mind The Beginners]
- There is strength in numbers, but socializing is not a number game. It’s about sharing the warmth of human beings.
You will find numbers in a less desired social context: gangs, cliques, tribes, troups who compete against each other … not unlike other animals. [Comments on Mind The Beginners]
